Lee Madeloni is a drummer, bassist, singer-composer and engineer/producer who co-created and engineered the music for the HERETICS with June Millington. He is the son of June’s sister Jean (co-founder and bassist/singer of the group Fanny), and his first professional job as a drummer was with their band the Slammin’ Babes when he was 14. Since then he has developed his skills as both musician and recording engineer, eventually co-producing the Naiakete album “Sweet Music” at IMA in Goshen, MA wit
h June. The song “Let Me Hear You Say” from that album was used in the documentary and was recorded at the IMA studios, as was all of the original music June and Lee wrote for the film.
Lee played bass, guitar and drums on THE HERETICS soundtrack and in the process was exposed to the art and life stories of all the women involved. “It was very special” he says. “I learned about another part of June’s life and her experiences, and it made me very proud to be involved.”
Currently Lee is embarking on a new project with the band “Early States”. He hopes to be collaborating with June on other films in the future.
